Trauma

Hand on a rainy window.

When your ability to handle a specific event is compromised, you may have experienced trauma.  Trauma comes in a variety of forms such as physical, psychological, and emotional.  If you have experienced trauma recently or in the past, you would not have imagined that this could happen to you.   It is hard to think that such an event would happen at some point in your life, but definitely not now.  Nobody can understand what you went through, and people say things that tend to hurt more than they help.

At Grace Counseling, we are here to guide and assist you in finding your way to a new understanding of what just happened.  We want to help you cope with those emotions that make everything so complicated.  Every detail that you share with us will always be held in complete confidentiality while you sort out all the emotions and consequences of the trauma that you have you experienced.  We see you.  We know that you’re hurt.  We know that you have the strength and courage that it takes to make it through.  We will help you find your way back using research-based techniques and clinical experience to understand your journey.

You are a survivor of the trauma that you have experienced, and that is a powerful emotion to carry around.  We want to initiate the next steps in helping you begin your journey to recovery.  We want to help you reclaim your sense of personal power while eliminating the symptoms that are associated with trauma.  This journey helps shift your focus from the past and brings in a new focus on the present as well as the future that is ahead of you.  At Grace Counseling, we stay with you on your path to recovery and personal growth while working to help you where you may need it along the way.
